This is true even if one put bread on the candlesticks since the candles mean more to him than the bread. If the candlesticks are resting on a tray made specifically to hold candlesticks the tray should also not be moved even if one put bread there as well. However, if the tray is not made for that purpose one may move it as long as he put something on the tray that is more valuable to him than the candles.
