Day: Sunday Date: May 15, 2016 Parshat: Emor Yalkut Yosef: O"H: 493
The thirty third day of Sefirat Haomer, also known as Lag Baomer, is celebrated as a day of rejoicing in honor the yarzeit of Rebbi Shimon Bar Yohai. There is a nice custom to arrange a special minyan to study on the night of Lag Baomer and in particular to read the passages from the Gemara and Zohar that mention the greatness of Rebbi Shimon Bar Yohai. In honor of Lag Baomer we do not say viduy and tahanun on that day.
DSH is brought to you in memory of Rabbi Mordechai ben Daniel. Please visit us online at sephardichalacha.org |
