Day: Tuesday Date: July 5, 2016 Parshat: Korah Yalkut Yosef: O"H: 214
One hears a beracha being said over the telephone or from a live broadcast answers amen to the beracha. This is true even if there is a slight delay from the time the words are said until they are heard. However, one cannot fulfill his requirement to say a specific beracha by hearing it over the radio or telephone. For example, one who hears havdala over the phone answers amen but then still must say it on his own. The same is true with regards to a loudspeaker or a microphone. Even if one wouldn't be able to hear the beracha without the microphone, he still answers amen. On the flip side, one who hears a beracha from a recording does not answer amen.
