Day: Thursday Date: July 14, 2016 Parshat: Hukat Yalkut Yosef: O"H: 216
The last pasuk in Tehillim (150:6) says "kol haneshama tehallel ya, every neshama will praise Hashem." Our Hachamim explain that this hints to the requirement to say a beracha over besamim since that is something that is not purely physical and is enjoyed by the neshama. When one says a beracha on besamim they should be held in his right hand. In contrast to food, there is no after beracha on besamim regardless of the quantity that one enjoys.
