One who flies in an airplane is required to say Hagomel upon reaching his destination if his flight was 72 minutes or more. If he went and came back on the same day and each flight on its own was less than 72 minutes but added together they were more, Hagomel is said. Meaning, a person who took a forty five minute flight does not say Hagomel. However, if he returned on the same day he does say Hagomel since the total time spent flying that day was more than 72 minutes. This all holds true even if he flew over populated areas and did not fly over any water or desert areas.
