One Who Ate Some Fruits of and Some Fruits not of the Shivat Haminim Day: Tuesday Date: May 24, 2016 Parshat: Behar Yalkut Yosef: O"H: 208 One who ate a kezayit worth of fruits of the shiv'at haminim and also ate a kezayit of other fruits or vegetables says al ha'etz and has in mind to include the non shiv'at haminim fruits as well. No boreh nefashot is said in that situation since, after all, the al ha'etz is an after beracha on fruits. For example, one who ate a kezayit of grapes and also ate a kezayit of apples or even half a kezayit each of apples and oranges, says al ha'etz on the grapes and includes the others in that beracha. However, if he is saying me'en shalosh for something other than fruits, such as wine or mezonot foods, and also ate non shiv'at haminim fruit, he first says boreh nefashot and then me'en shalosh. In this case the fruits cannot be included in the me'en shalosh since he is not saying the me'en shalosh for any fruits that would otherwise get that beracha.
